The 12th China Medical Device Industry Conference (DeviceChina2023) was held at the Suzhou International Expo Center from September 19th to 20th and concluded successfully this Wednesday.
The theme of this conference was "Breaking Boundaries and Innovations - The Resurgence and Reshaping of Domestic Medical Devices." It served as a platform for discussions on innovation, collaboration, and the future of medical devices, with a focus on various areas, including medical equipment and health management. The conference attracted numerous companies, scholars, and industry elites from across the country.
Mr. Robert Pang, Head of the Medical Affairs Department of LINKS, and Mr. Young Yang, Senior Medical Manager of LINKS, were invited to participate in the conference. They engaged in discussions and shared insights at the Cardiovascular Innovation Forum Roundtable Meeting and the Peripheral and Oncology Intervention Forum and Roundtable Meeting, respectively.

Opening Address

In attendance at the event were Dr. Junbo Ge , Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Department of Cardiology at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University; Dr. Zhonglin Wang, Foreign Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems,Chinese Academy of Sciences; Dr. Yuanting Zhang, Academician of the International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering, IEEE Fellow, and Chief Scientist of Honor; as well as Wu Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of the Park; and Qian Ni, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of the Park.。
The opening address was delivered by Academician Yang Guangzhong of the Royal Academy of Engineering in the United Kingdom. He emphasized the significance of the biomedical industry for public health and highlighted that medical device innovation is a strategic focus for the country. He called for all segments of the industry chain to firmly embrace the spirit of innovation and work together to advance the internationalization of Chinese medical devices, with a focus on patient-centered approaches to promote industry development.

Mr. Robert Pang, Partner and Head of the Medical Affairs Department at LINKS Medical Scientific (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., was invited to participate in the Cardiovascular Innovation Forum Roundtable Meeting. During this meeting, they discussed the necessary steps for the upgrade of domestic medical devices. When facing challenges such as centralized procurement pressure and unstable pricing systems, market positioning and strategic planning become crucial. Undoubtedly, "going global" has become the "upgrade" path for most domestic medical device companies.
LINKS has extensive experience in providing services for innovation, high-risk, and interventional medical device clinical trials. They have also offered numerous consultations for international expansion. They hope to assist more domestic medical device companies in successfully going global in the future.

Mr. Young Yang, Senior Medical Manager at Shanghai LINKS Medical Scientific (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., shared a topic titled "A New Frontier in Peripheral Intervention: Pulmonary Artery Thrombectomy." Due to the increasing market size in the field of peripheral intervention and the ample room for development in pulmonary artery thrombectomy, Mr. Yang introduced common treatment options in peripheral intervention, the status of marketed products, and provided a detailed analysis and introduction of clinical trial design considerations for pulmonary artery thrombectomy during his presentation.
